Welcome to my blog!
On October 29, 2014, I made one a of the biggest decisions in my life and bought a house! At 24 years old, I never imagined that I would be buying a house. Luckily, God has blessed me so much that I was able to make a wonderful dream of mine come true. Yes, my two cats- Smokey and Bandit, and I packed up and moved into a wonderful house! I went from renting a condo to paying a mortgage on my own house! Although I knew owning a home was not going to be easy, I decided that I was going to make it fun! I enjoy making my own things, big or small! Whether it includes using power tools, ripping out plants or just painting a room, I am completely in my element!
I decided to create a blog that I could use to share all of my DIY home crafts, designs, tips and even home recipes with other people. The hardest thing about a blog is creating a name. After going through many different names and talking with my mom, I thought of "Simply A Girl and Her Home." This title fit because basically that is what my blog is, me and my home.
It has been a fun and sometimes stressful transition from renting a condo to owning a home. But the most fun has been completely making this place my own. Every room has my own personal stamp on it, whether it be a "K" on the wall, something Cinderella, or maybe just black cat hair from the boys.
I am hoping to give others great ideas that can be used in their home, as well as, show how easily anything can be a DIY project! So follow me on my wonderful journey of homeownership!
